Built for people who write every day
Wordwand is an AI writing assistant that works inside every Mac app — not in a browser tab you have to switch to.
The problem with AI writing today
AI writing tools are powerful, but they all share the same friction: they live somewhere else. You are writing in Mail. The AI is in a browser tab. You copy your text, paste it into ChatGPT, get the result, copy it again, and paste it back. Every time.
Browser extensions help with some apps, but they do not work in native applications — not in Xcode, not in Pages, not in Slack, not in the terminal. Grammarly, the most popular writing assistant, is fundamentally limited to browser contexts.
The result is a workflow that breaks every time you need AI. Writers, developers, and professionals who type for hours every day lose minutes to copy-pasting — dozens of times a day.
Our mission
Bring AI writing into every Mac app — without friction.
One shortcut. Text selected, action applied, result in place. No tab switching. No copy-pasting. No interruption to your flow.
What Wordwand does
Eight features. One app. One shortcut.
Fix, rewrite, and generate
Grammar correction, tone adjustment, AI rewriting, and text generation — all triggered by a single shortcut, directly inside the app you are already using.
Speak, then write
Press a key, speak naturally, and your words appear as clean, formatted text. Voice dictation with optional grammar correction — no copy-pasting required.
Translate and listen
Translate text into 40+ languages inline. Or have any text read aloud in natural voices — including a Podcast Mode that turns long documents into audio.
Why native Mac matters
Wordwand is not a web app with a wrapper. It is built in Swift, for macOS, from the ground up.
Built in Swift, not a web wrapper
Wordwand is a native macOS application. It launches instantly, uses minimal resources, and integrates with the system at a level no browser extension can match.
macOS Accessibility API
The Accessibility API is what allows Wordwand to read and replace text in any app — Mail, Slack, Xcode, Pages, Notes, and every other app on your Mac. No extensions needed.
Lives in your menu bar
Wordwand stays out of the way until you need it. It lives in the menu bar, available with a shortcut at any moment, without interrupting your workflow.
Works without a browser
Most AI writing tools are browser-first. Wordwand works in every Mac app, including native apps that browsers cannot touch: terminal, code editors, system dialogs.
Where we are going
Wordwand started as a macOS menu bar app. An iOS version — with a full app and a keyboard extension that brings the same AI capabilities into every iPhone and iPad app — is currently in development.
The roadmap includes deeper integrations, more AI models to choose from, expanded language support, and custom prompt libraries that let users build their own AI actions for specific workflows.
The goal has not changed: make AI writing feel like a native part of every app, not a detour you have to take.
